Joseph F. Cavanaugh III, Esq.
 
Attorney Joseph F. Cavanaugh III was born in the Bronx, New York, on April 10, 1966. He moved to Wellesley, Massachusetts, in 1974, and graduated from Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood, Massachusetts, in 1984. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston College, in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, in 1988. Attorney Cavanaugh earned his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1999.

Attorney Cavanaugh possesses extensive litigation experience in the courts of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He has tried cases before juries in District and Superior Courts in Massachusetts, and has achieved successful results for clients in all forms of alternative dispute resolution, including binding arbitration and mediation. Attorney Cavanaugh has defended hundreds of clients in personal injury lawsuits while practicing in the area of insurance defense for several major automobile insurers in Massachusetts at a busy general practice law firm. Attorney Cavanaugh has also successfully represented Plaintiffs in personal injury lawsuits including automobile accidents, slip and falls, and accidents at sea. Attorney Cavanaugh's experience in both prosecuting and defending personal injury cases provides him with insight and experience from both sides of the personal injury fence that he employs vigorously to obtain the best possible result for clients. Attorney Cavanaugh has also represented business clients on corporate matters, and has successfully handled land use matters before state and local regulatory boards and commissions. Attorney Cavanaugh has also briefed, and argued, cases before the Massachusetts Appeals Court and the Appellate Division of the Massachusetts District Court. Attorney Cavanaugh's trial experience enables him to effectively analyze each client's individual case, fight hard for clients' interests, and recommend the best alternative for achieving outstanding results and, most importantly, client satisfaction.

From September of 1999 to August of 2001, Attorney Cavanaugh served as Law Clerk to the Justices of the Massachusetts Superior Court where he assisted judges in all phases of civil and criminal litigation. During his two years as a Law Clerk at the Commonwealth's highest trial court, Attorney Cavanaugh observed, and participated in, the litigation process and worked directly with more than twenty Superior Court judges. Attorney Cavanaugh's two years of experience as a Law Clerk enabled him to observe the litigation process close up thereby honing his research, writing, and courtroom skills; particularly in the areas of motion practice, oral argument, and jury instruction.

Attorney Cavanaugh is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and is admitted to the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Attorney Cavanaugh is also a member of the Massachusetts, Boston, and Barnstable County Bar Associations.

While in law school, Attorney Cavanaugh was a staff member on the Suffolk University Law Review, and is the author of published Case Comment, Public Fora Doctrine Blocks Candidate Access to Government-Broadcast Political Debate, 32 Suffolk U.L. Rev. 823 (1999). Attorney Cavanaugh graduated in the top 9% of his law school class, and received honors in both legal research and writing, and moot court, competitions. His law review staff competition writing was selected as the best from over one hundred Law Review Competition submissions.

Prior to attending law school, Attorney Cavanaugh worked as a Research Analyst at the Massachusetts House of Representatives Post Audit and Oversight Bureau. There, he worked directly with Massachusetts legislators in the House and Senate to research and evaluate dozens of state programs and initiatives. Attorney Cavanaugh wrote detailed performance audit reports aimed at improving state government that were issued and widely circulated. Attorney Cavanaugh also worked as a paralegal at the Massachusetts Department of Revenue, where he assisted over twenty attorneys litigating approximately 1200 tax cases before the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Appellate Tax Board. While at Boston College, Attorney Cavanaugh was a contributing reporter to the student newspaper, The Heights, where he wrote published news articles covering Boston College sporting events.

Attorney Cavanaugh is a licensed Real Estate Broker in Massachusetts. He lives on Cape Cod, and is an avid salt and freshwater fly fisherman. He also enjoys reading, numismatics, digital photography, travel, and attending Boston College sporting events.
 
 
 
 
 Alice M. Forbes, Esq.
 
Attorney Alice M. Forbes was born in Greenfield, Massachusetts, on February 25, 1970. She graduated from the Northfield Mount Hermon School ("NMH") in Northfield, Massachusetts, in 1988. While at NMH, Ms. Forbes was the editor of a top nationally ranked newspaper, The Bridge, and she was class president and captain of three Division I, varsity sports teams. Attorney Alice M. Forbes graduated magna cum laude from Northeastern University with both a B.S. in marketing and a M.S. in accounting. While at Northeastern University, Attorney Forbes was a student teacher for undergraduates in a variety of business classes, including; statistics, finance and accounting. After graduating from Northeastern University, Attorney Forbes attended Boston University School of Law. Following law school, Attorney Forbes was an associate at an insurance defense firm in Newton, Massachusetts, which defended several major insurance companies.
 
In 2002, Attorney Forbes moved to Cape Cod, Massachusetts and worked for two years as an associate at a 100 employee litigation law firm with offices in Hyannis, Rayham and Boston, Massachusetts. There, Attorney Forbes continued to carry a full case load of insurance defense matters. She also defended several large, local businesses in business disputes and land issues. Next, Attorney Forbes worked for over two years at an insurance defense firm with offices on Cape Cod, and in Boston, Massachusetts. Attorney Forbes specialized as an insurance defense attorney, handling an array of insurance cases, including: Automobile accidents; consumer protection violations; fraud; construction disputes between subcontractors and contractors; and mold and hazardous waste cases. Attorney Forbes entered into private practice in 2006. She currently represents several large local businesses, and continues to practice in the area of insurance defense litigation.

Attorney Forbes has obtained numerous settlements and defense verdicts in District and Superior Court trials. Attorney Forbes' trial results have been recognized and published in both Massachusetts Lawyer’s Weekly and National Verdicts for obtaining an outstanding defense verdict in the Barnstable Superior Court.

Attorney Forbes is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Attorney Forbes is also a member of the Massachusetts, Boston, and Barnstable County Bar Associations. Attorney Forbes is also a member of the Animal Rescue League, Angels of the Snow, which is committed to finding homes for abused and abandoned Siberian Huskies. Attorney Forbes is also actively involved in local and state politics, and attends and assists in organizing several state and local political campaign fundraisers.
